This tartan was created for Abbe de Vere and her family to honour and celebrate the historic union of the Weir and de Vere bloodlines. It stands as the official tartan of the Royal Dragon Court and The House of Vere, symbolising both ancestral legacy and the continuation of the Dragon lineage into the modern era.

Although early patterns were sometimes compared to the Hope-Vere tartan — a later offshoot connected to the wider de Vere line — this blue tartan represents the original Weir clan identity.

To honour the integrity of our heritage, all House of Vere tartans are woven exclusively by traditional Scottish Highland weavers. We work only with a select, long-established artisan mill in Scotland that is known for its precision, authenticity, and dedication to preserving historical Highland weaving methods.

Our cloth is produced using premium Scottish wool on traditional looms, handled by experienced craftspeople who understand the ancestral significance of clan tartans.
Eligibility is granted to those who meet the authenticated genealogical standard. Once approved, you and your blood family are entitled to wear the House of Vere tartan with honour. Contact us using the form and we will send out an invoice for the fee and instruction for the process.
